Traditional Dim Sum has a variety of different names and flavours, and spans the Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese and Indonesian cuisines. These small appetizers are a few names, and are called Sui Mai, Shumai or even Siomay. These Shumai are very popular and are often called the World’s best Dim Sum.

The Shumai are little bundles of seasoned, tender beef are mixed with chopped Asian veggies, wrapped in a light pastry outer forming an open pocket with a distinctive ruffled edging. They are quick and easy to steam, even from frozen. Shumai are versatile as appetisers or with Asian veggies as a side dish.
