This Middle Eastern-inspired shish tawook consists of tender, antibiotic-residue free chicken pieces that have been marinated in a yogurt and garlic mix, seasoned with spices before skewering and grilling (or baking) to tender, juicy, flavourful perfection! Enjoy these chicken shish kabobs in a wrap, with grains or alongside salads like Fattoush or tabouleh. The secret to delicious shish tawook is in the marinade. Two of the main ingredients in the marinade are yogurt and freshly squeezed lemon juice, providing not only flavour, but also succulent tenderness and moisture. The spices and tomato paste give the chicken it’s iconic orange colour.

Cooking Instructions:  Pan-Fry: Thaw the Shish Tawook completely. Heat a little ghee in a frying pan on moderate heat and place the kebab in it. Slowly turn the Shish Tawook a ¼ turn to brown and allow the chicken to cook through completely. Serve with green chutney, or add some Saj bread to wrap your kebab in. Grill or BBQ: Thaw the Shish Tawook completely. Ensure the grill or coals are hot. Oil the grill to prevent the Shish Tawook from sticking. Place the marinated Shish Tawook on the grill and cook both sides evenly on a slow flame. Ensure the chicken is cooked through completely. Serve with green chutney, or add some Saj bread to wrap your kebab in.
